The Salvation Army has been working alongside local authorities since the first flood to support vulnerable families

In Puerto Vallarta, The Salvation Army has been on the ground since the first flood, working alongside local authorities to identify and support the most vulnerable families. Food and cleaning supplies were distributed to help residents begin recovery. After the second flood struck the same area, The Salvation Army Corps itself sustained damage, and recovery efforts were delayed.

Now, The Salvation Army Mexico Territory is preparing to help families replace essential household items - beds and refrigerators - so they can begin rebuilding their lives. With support from SAWSO and other partners, these families could receive the help they urgently need.

In Poza Rica, a mobile emergency team was deployed to respond to catastrophic flooding after the Cazones River overflowed on October 16. Entire neighborhoods were submerged under more than two meters of water, destroying homes, vehicles, and essential belongings.

Critical Need: The Salvation Army's mobile kitchen and volunteers have prepared and delivered hundreds of hot meals each day to families in shelters and the hard-hit Las Granjas neighborhood, offering not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope to those navigating the aftermath of disaster.

"Please keep the families of Puerto Vallarta and Poza Rica in your prayers."
